THE Jackson QCWA Hall may not be the usual venue for international touring musicians, but The Jellyman's Daughter will take to the stage for a night of folk music as part of their first Australian tour.

They'll be joined by Australian duo Ash Bell and Sara Tindley, with both bands also performing at Bassett Park Wool Hall, Roma as part of a 15-venue regional tour that starts and ends with music festivals in Dorrigo and Queenscliff.

Hailing from Edinburgh, Scotland, The Jellyman's Daughter band member Graham Coe said he was excited to tour parts of Australia away from the usual capital city circuit.

"We're looking forward to playing our music to a bunch of friendly Australian faces on the other side of the world, meeting some dangerous animals and finally getting to experience some (real) hot weather,” he said.

"We're also excited about getting out of the cities and seeing the diversity in the communities.

"Touring is really the best way to properly experience a country and we're super grateful that we'll have the opportunity to do that in Australia.”

The Festival of Small Halls is a family-friendly touring program for musicians that allows regional communities access to folk and contem- porary acoustic artists in their own town. Events were last year hosted in Moonie and Wallumbilla.

Producer Eleanor Rigden said small towns were some of the most welcoming places she'd experienced.

"We're inviting people to come away with us, plan a road trip and really experience the double whammy of this brilliant music alongside the country hospitality and hosts,” she said.

The Festival of Small Halls is presented by Wood- fordia Inc in partnership with Dorrigo Folk and Bluegrass Festival and Queenscliff Music Festival.

The November 3 performance will be held at Jackson QCWA, with camping and space for caravans available. A barbecue is held from 5pm with doors open at 6.30pm for a 7pm start.

The November 2 performance will be held at Wool Hall, Basset Park, Roma with doors open at 6.30pm for a 7pm start.
