FORMER Mitchell Magpie playmaker Michael Purcell's move to the Toowoomba Rugby League competition has already paid dividends.
The talented local star made use of his selection for the Wattles Warriors by scoring four tries at centre for his new side on the weekend.
The Warriors came away with a 64-10 thrashing of Toowoomba Brothers and Purcell said he was already enjoying himself.
"I was hoping for a try or two, but to get four in one game is giving me a lot of confidence," he said.
"They (Wattles) have welcomed me with wide arms.
"I wasn't sure how I would go, but to come down here and do well is a great feeling."

Purcell had only a few days to get used to the higher intensity of the TRL.
"When I got down there, I got to meet most of the boys and I got to run some plays," he said.
"The intensity is up a bit and the players run a bit faster and harder."
