A Roma resident has successfully extinguished two fires on their property with a garden hose.

A Roma resident has successfully extinguished two fires on their property with a garden hose before emergency services could arrive.

Emergency services were called to the Mullavey St property just after 11am on Friday, May 31.

A Queensland Fire and Emergency Services spokesman said two crews were tasked to the blaze, but the occupant managed to extinguish the two small fires with their before fire crews could arrive.

“We were there for about four minutes,” the spokesman said.
