SOLO acts, magic tricks, jokes and musical performances were just some of the fun events at the Heart Church Christmas concert and lunch on Sunday.

The church itself has been in Roma since 1988 and Senior Pastors Mark and Heidi Westbrook have been running the show for the past seven years.

Mrs Westbrook said Sunday was a celebration of a terrific year.

"Today was really a celebration of our year here at Heart Church and also being the service closest to Christmas we really wanted to see the gifts and talents in people's and families' lives and to celebrate them,” she said.

"Rather than having the regular sort of run of the mill service, we decided to change it up a bit and invite people to come and celebrate with us and bring some joy into the church.”

Mrs Westbrook said the day marked a peak in their seven years in Roma.

"The church is in a really great place, it is healthy, vibrant and it continues to grow,” she said.

"One of our members shared this morning that we're having the largest services we've had for this church ever.

"So today (Sunday) is a bit of a finale and a celebration for us, as Mark and I and our family have just handed over the church and are transitioning to Bundaberg.”

Mr Westbrook said it is vital to love your community - one of Heart Church's values, but not just at Christmas time, it is something that is ongoing.

"Our vision is love God, love people and love our community,” he said.

"I think for anyone who comes into Roma, I encourage you to become a part of the community, whether it's through the faith community or other organisations.

"There are plenty of great things happening in Roma for you to become a part of.”
