Five teams will be gunning for glory in the 2025 edition of the elite schoolgirls rugby league competition. We reveal the players you need to watch.

The Cathedral College open rugby league team will be looking to replicate its brilliant 2024 form as it gears up for the Dolphins Schoolgirls Cup.
The team enjoyed an unbeaten run through the competition last year, going on to finish runners-up in the NRL Schoolgirls Cup Queensland final.
The Damon Moore-coached outfit will open its season against Emmaus College on Tuesday.
Shalom College will host North Rockhampton High in the other Round 1 fixture, with Rockhampton Grammar having the bye.

We’ve put together a list of the leading players from each of the five teams who are sure to feature in 2025.
THE CATHEDRAL COLLEGE
Manaia Faiumu-Malone
Skilful ball player who possesses all the skills, making her a valuable asset to the team.
Alexis Bukowski
Powerful forward who can play multiple positions. A hard-running athlete who is driven to succeed. TCC will be counting on her to have a great campaign. Was named in last year’s Confraternity Honorary Girls Merit Team.
Josie Wogand
Crafty hooker whose service and running game is paramount to the team’s success. A Queensland Country under-17 rep, she also earned selection in the 2024 Confraternity Honorary Girls Merit Team.
ROCKHAMPTON GRAMMAR
Alice Kallquist
A hard-working lock who always gives 110% energy and effort. One of the toughest players going around and will give everything until the final whistle.
Alexandra Kulla Kulla
A strong, hard-running front rower with good footwork. She intimidates the opposition with her aggressive runs and fantastic tackle technique. A force to be reckoned with.
Kyra Kent
A talented half with great communication skills and a good kicking game. She leads and directs through her ability and in-depth knowledge of the game. A fantastic all-round leader.
NORTH ROCKHAMPTON HIGH
Ruivani Auda
Extremely versatile forward who has been able to comfortably fill multiple positions from front row, lock, second row, hooker and half back. Has a great knowledge of the game and good vision. Good communicator who steers the ship.
Tessa Manning
Extremely fit half with a huge work rate. Coming from a touch background, has great ball playing ability and vision in attack. A sporting all-rounder, she is also a member of the Future Firebirds Regional Program (netball).
Addison Williams
Best described as “effort on effort” and dedicated to the Hawks and her teammates. Front row forward/lock who exemplifies the Hawks’ spirit and works herself to a standstill.
SHALOM COLLEGE
Charlie Gear
A touch convert who has taken to league like a duck to water. Naturally gifted with an athletic build, she has made the number one jersey her own. Her speed helps her find open space and she can throw pinpoint passes.
Courtney Driver
Shalom’s starting halfback, she plays with calm and confidence. Has a great skill set and directs the team well, making good decisions under pressure. Her energy and enthusiasm inspires her teammates.
Nikita Clarey
A member of the Brisbane Lions Academy, she has also made a smooth transition to rugby league, finding her place at five-eighth. Has a natural kick and great hand/eye coordination. Physically strong with a big motor, she can run all day.
EMMAUS COLLEGE
Isabelle Jensen
A young gun who generally plays wing but will line up at lock for Emmaus. Tough and tenacious, she gets through a mountain of work with strong carries and resolute defence. Look to her to play some big minutes.
Layney Jenkins
In her first year of league, she has fast developed an understanding of the game. A willing and exciting ball-runner with great skills and speed to burn. Moves the team around the park really well.
Hannah McCrohon
An experienced hooker who is a great team player. Ever-reliable, she has a great work ethic and never shies away from the hard stuff. The complete player in terms of attack, defence and organisation.
