The CQ Capras under-17 girls squad for the 2025 season has been finalised.
Coach Nikki Carpenter has decided on the 30 players who will carry the club’s hopes into the expanded competition, which kicks off on February 15.
They were selected following testing pre-season sessions and an intra-squad game a fortnight ago where the hopefuls had the last chance to press their claims.

The girls play their first official trial this Saturday against the Mackay Cutters at Rockhampton’s Rugby Park.
Their game at 11.30am is one of five featuring the Capras and Cutters underage teams.
The under-19 girls play at 12.45pm and the under-17 boys at 2pm before the under-19s at 3.15pm.
The Capras under-17 girls squad features some familiar faces, with a core group returning from last year’s inaugural season, as well as some exciting new prospects.

The Capras played just three games last year but this year will play six, with a four-game finals series also introduced.
Carpenter is excited for the longer season and the opportunities it presents her charges.
She believes she has the personnel to make a big impression, having previously said there was “so much talent and ability in the group”.
The Capras will play a second trial on February 8 before heading to Townsville to take on the Blackhawks in their season opener the following weekend.
