Vandals have thrown rocks at the window of the Queensland Ambulance Service station in the Rockhampton CBD and damaged an employee’s vehicle in a shocking attack overnight.

Rockhampton Ambulance Service station Officer-in-Charge Tracy Pirie said the vandalism was disappointing.

“We come here to serve the community and while we’re out doing all of that, someone was here vandalising our property and wrecking our cars,” she said.

She also spoke about the impact on the employee whose car was damaged.

“The vehicle is significantly damaged and [the employee] was unable to drive it home,” Ms Pirie said.

“She will be without a car for a significant amount of time until that car gets fixed.”

The damage was reported this morning and police are investigating the incident.
