More than 10 properties remain on the list to be sold at an unpaid rates auction by Rockhampton Regional Council. Two were listed for Livingstone Shire Council.

The list of properties that will be sold at an unpaid rates auction has dwindled as owners have made last minute payments to Rockhampton and Livingstone councils.
Property owners were notified formally on February 25 (Livingstone) and February 28 (Rockhampton) that unless overdue rates and interest are paid immediately, the land will be sold by auction.
Livingstone's list has gone from six properties down to two.
Livingstone Shire Council’s auction will be held on Thursday March 17, 1pm, at Yeppoon Town Hall.
Rockhampton's list went from 30 properties to 13 on the day before the auction (March 17).
Rockhampton Regional Council’s auction will be held on March 18, 10am, at City Hall.
The venue is limited to a capacity of 70 people.
A 10 per cent deposit is required to be paid on the day of the auction and personal cheques will not be accepted.
Local government legislation states council has the authority to sell land if the rates or charges have been overdue for at least three years, or one year for vacant or commercial land.
The land is to be sold at market or land value or higher than the amount of the overdue rates/charges.
A notice was given to property owners in October 2021 and this publication published a list of properties at risk.
Many of these owners have since paid the overdue rates as the properties are no longer on the list.
