Tribute to Rockhampton grandma Linda Kerr, allegedly murdered by Graeme Wollington
A Queensland grandmother, allegedly murdered by her neighbour, has been remembered by friends for her “never ending supply of jokes” as more details about her difficult later years are revealed.

Rockhampton grandmother Linda Cheryal Kerr had a cheeky and witty sense of humour which shone through despite her difficult circumstances, shocked friends have revealed.
It comes after Ms Kerr, 74, was found dead inside a duplex and her neighbour, 68-year-old Graeme Colin Wollington, charged with her alleged murder.
Speaking to this publication, friends of the late Ms Kerr said Linda was legally blind, had suffered three strokes and previously underwent a double hip replacement.
She was born and raised in New Zealand and had a distinct accent, they explained.
“Linda was an amazing person, she was cheeky and had a never-ending supply of jokes,” one friend, who did not want to be identified said.
“Everyone knew her as she walked around the units with her little dogs.”
The friends said Ms Kerr was frail and estimated she would have weighed less than 50 kilos at the time her body was discovered at Withers St, Kawana about 7.30pm on Sunday, July 16.
A crime scene was established around the perimeter of the property and remained under police guard for a week before police confirmed Mr Wollington had been charged.
The duplex is on the site of PresCare Alexandra Gardens but is regarded as independently living and listed on the National Rental Affordability Scheme.
According to court documents, Mr Wollington lived next door.
His charge was mentioned briefly in Rockhampton Magistrates Court on Monday and he was remanded in custody until his next court hearing on September 20.
He did not enter a plea.
