Australians experiencing rental stress

From a Rockhampton agency joining a national real estate brand, a new sales agent and two new agencies opening in the last 12 months, here are the latest developments in the real estate industry in Rockhampton and the Capricorn Coast.

McGrath joins national real estate brand

The team formerly behind McGrath Rockhampton and Capricorn Coast have recently joined national real estate brand, The Agency.

Principal Todd Brandon said after 15 years successfully servicing the local area, he was looking for the right partner to take his services to the next level and believes joining The Agency’s national network would help facilitate that.

Mr Brandon said the sales team would remain the same.

“We saw the benefits of this unique structure which allows us to be part of a national network at the local level,” he said.

“By joining The Agency, we can further our reach and operate across the entire region.

“Clients can buy or sell their homes, or have us take care of their investment property, from anywhere within the region, or anywhere across Australia for that matter.

“I’m excited by this opportunity to provide our clients with the same outstanding customer service, yet with the added benefits of having all of their property needs met, in any location, across Australia, all under the one national, premium brand.”

Mr Brandon said although it had only been a few days into the new brand, it had been quite positive.

“Our counterparts throughout the country have been reaching out and wishing us all the best,” he said.

“The new brand looks great, there’s lots of sign boards up and it feels good, it feels like it’s the right move.”

The Agency CEO Geoff Lucas said the move into Rockhampton and the Capricorn Coast was to raise the stakes in the beef capital and surrounding areas and make further gains toward a national stronghold.

“Our northernmost move into Rockhampton and the Capricorn Coast means our East Coast network strengthens from the Beef Capital down to The Apple Isle in Tasmania,” Mr Lucas said.

“It’s our objective to have a stronger local presence not only in our capital cities, but also in our regional powerhouses, to better service our clients at the local and national level.

“We know that with the decades of local knowledge and experience between them, this team of leading real estate professionals will take The Agency to even greater heights.”

Brisbane agent joins Harcourts Yeppoon

Hailing from Brisbane with almost 20 years of experience in real estate, sales agent George Stephan has joined the team at Harcourts Yeppoon.

Mr Stephan, who joined Harcourts Yeppoon in October, said his interest in real estate sparked after purchasing his first property when he was 18 and becoming involved in various real estate developments around South East Queensland.

He said he had been travelling to the Capricorn Coast for the last 10 years on holidays and fell in love with the region.

“It’s a beautiful region,” he said.

“It’s a growing region with huge potential.

“The market is very active.

“Properties are coming to the market and aren’t lasting long.”

He said his short time with the team at Harcourts Yeppoon had been “fantastic” and there was a lot of support.

“Being from Brisbane, I am innovative and I am very proactive with a bit of a different insight into the industry,” he said.

New agency opens in North Rockhampton

After 10 years in the real estate industry, Robyn Bentley has opened her own agency in North Rockhampton.

Ms Bentley opened Bentley Real Estate in May.

Having been a business owner in the past, Ms Bentley said it seemed a natural progression.

She said business had been “excellent”.

“I have lots of valued clients that I have been dealing with over the years,” she said.

“At Bentley Real Estate we specialise in residential and rural.

“Col (Thomas) and I have a strong depth of knowledge in the rural industry and can provide expertise in both fields.

“I believe we provide the best customer experience.”

She said she intended to grow her team and incorporate rental properties into her business next year.

Bentley Real Estate is located at 4b/379 Yaamba Road, Park Avenue.

Realty One celebrates one year in business

Rockhampton real estate agency Realty One has recently celebrated its first year in business since opening its doors in October last year.

Principal Rossana Winters said business had been “fantastic”.

Ms Winters, who is a mum to three boys and has lived in Rockhampton for more than four decades, has years of experience as a property investor and renovator as well as being a successful businessperson.

For 27 years, Ms Winters owned FoodWorks in Frenchville and she is the owner of Rejuvenate Wellness Centre.

During Covid-19, Ms Winters took on extra work with principal and mortgage broker of Finance First, John MacMaster, as a client support specialist.

During this time, Ms Winters was inspired to start her own real estate business.

“I was working with John MacMaster at Finance First and saw there was a need for someone who was a straight shooter,” she said.

Ms Winters booked herself into a real estate course, got her license and opened Realty One.

Ms Winters described Realty One as “not just another real estate agency”.

“We make sure we care about people,” she said.

“We care about how they are going and we are actually working for them.

“I help people if they have to clean up, tidy up, renovate. We work with a team of gardeners and cleaners to help people to get their houses ready for the market.

“Plus, we are straight shooters, straight down the line.

“I don’t play games. I don’t come into the game with multi offers, holding offers and playing one buyer against the other buyers.”

She said she works with Finance First to make it easy for people to buy a house and get the finance all in one place.

She finds the house, John finds the finance.

“Come and have a coffee with us and get to meet us,” she said.

Realty One is located at 3/71 High Street, Berserker.
