Teenage girl pleads guilty to Kingfisher Parade, Norman Gardens house fire arson charge in Rockhampton District Court

A teenage girl has put her hand up to admit responsibility for a house fire in Norman Gardens last year.

Emergency services were called to a house fire on Kingfisher Parade about 11am on May 4, 2021.

Upon arrival the single storey dwelling was found to be well involved.

No one was home at the time and it was believed the occupant had left the home when the fire started and was believed to have been in contact with emergency services.

The fire was extinguished by 12.15pm with four Queensland Fire and Emergency Services crews attending the scene.

A juvenile girl appeared in the Rockhampton District Court on May 30 and pleaded guilty to one count of arson in relation to the house fire.

Her sentence has been adjourned until June 23 while a presentence report is compiled.
