Police continue to probe Biloela crash that killed boy, 11

More than two months after an 11-year-old boy was killed while riding his bike in Central Queensland, police are continuing to probe the incident.

Hamidan Daniels was one of the local residents to leave tributes to the 11-year-old boy who was tragically killed. Ms Daniels lived on the same street as the youngster.

A police probe into a traffic crash that killed an 11-year-old boy at Biloela is continuing more than two months after the tragedy rocked the Central Queensland community.

A Queensland Police Service spokeswoman said on Monday the investigation into the bicycle and vehicle collision at the intersection of Bell and Prairie streets on November 3 last year, remained ongoing.

“No one has been charged at this stage, investigations are ongoing,” the QPS spokeswoman said.

The 11-year-old boy was just 100m from making it back to his Biloela home when tragedy struck and he came off his bike.

He was flown to Brisbane Children’s Hospital in a critical condition with a serious head injury but later succumbed to his injuries.

The boy was understood to have been on his way home from his regular afternoon piano lessons when he was involved in the collision.

Bell Street resident Hamidan Daniels, who has lived one house from the intersection for 30 years, said she had never seen a crash there during that time.

Following the boy’s death, there was an outpouring of community sentiment with locals placing tributes in the form of cards, flowers and soft toys on a power pole at the intersection.
