Drug trafficker Dillon Colin Marshall suffers burns to face, arm torching stolen car
A convicted drug trafficker, who suffered burns to his face and arms while setting a stolen car alight, was left in agony for five days because the “deadheads” he was with didn’t take him to hospital.

A convicted drug trafficker was left to suffer after the torching of a stolen car went horribly wrong but a court has heard that’s not the only consequence of his time spent with deadbeat “associates”.
Dillon Colin Marshall, who was jailed in 2021 for trafficking and producing marijuana, recently returned to Rockhampton District Court which heard he had come into possession of the 2015 Isuzu D-Max after it was stolen on March 10, 2022, and 10 days later, set fire to it while in a creek bed at Glendale.
“The fire was quite intense,” Crown Prosecutor Luke Smoothy told the court
“The vehicle was completely destroyed and the defendant himself actually sustained quite extensive injuries to his arms and face.”
When police located 27-year-old Marshall five days after the car fire, they found him covered in severe burn blisters and took him to the hospital for treatment as infection had set in.
Judge Jeff Clarke questioned “what deadheads was he hanging around with at that time that wouldn’t take him to hospital to get treatment?”
Marshall’s barrister, Maree Willey, replied she didn’t know.
She also told the court Marshall’s mother died in December 2021 and he wasn’t around when it happened as he “was off hanging with associates”.
Ms Willey said her client also missed a job interview his father arranged at Stanwell because he was again hanging with “associates”.
Marshall pleaded guilty to one count of arson – vehicle and was sentenced to three years prison with 217 days presentence custody taken into account but not declared.
Judge Clarke ordered Marshall be eligible for immediate parole.
