Drink drivers, drug drivers face Yeppoon Magistrates Court

A butcher, a diesel fitter and a nursing student were among the latest traffic offenders to face the Yeppoon court. See the list.

The following people pleaded guilty in Yeppoon Magistrates Court to either drink driving or drug driving offences.

Drink driving

Brook Wayne Murtagh, 39

Murtagh blew a reading of .068 after police intercepted him at Yeppoon on December 8.

He pleaded guilty in Yeppoon Magistrates Court on January 30 to drink driving.

With no similar offending in the past five years, Murtagh, a butcher, was fined $300 by Magistrate Lance Rundle and disqualified from driving for one month.

A traffic conviction was recorded.

Dylan Robertson, 36

Robertson blew a reading of .180 after police intercepted him at Yeppoon on November 29.

He pleaded guilty in Yeppoon Magistrates Court on January 30 to drink driving.

With no similar offending in the past five years, Robertson, who had completed a traffic offenders program, was fined $900 by Magistrate Lance Rundle and disqualified from driving for nine months.

No traffic conviction was recorded.

Lionel John Doyle, 54

Doyle blew a reading of .111 after police intercepted him at Yeppoon on December 20.

He pleaded guilty in Yeppoon Magistrates Court on January 30 to drink driving.

With no previous offending of this kind, Doyle, a disability pensioner, was fined $500 by Magistrate Lance Rundle and disqualified from driving for four months.

Tagai Oroto Pepe Tapau-Bon, 22

P-plater Tapau-Bon blew a reading of .088 after police intercepted him at Yeppoon on November 17.

He pleaded guilty in Yeppoon Magistrates Court on January 30 to drink driving.

With no prior offending of this sort, Tapau-Bon, a diesel fitter, was fined $400 by Magistrate Lance Rundle and disqualified from driving for three months.

No traffic conviction was recorded.

Dr Richard Zimmerman, 74

Zimmerman blew a reading of .059 after police intercepted him at Yeppoon on January 4.

He pleaded guilty in Yeppoon Magistrates Court on January 30 to drink driving.

With no prior similar offending, Zimmerman, a retiree, was fined $300 by Magistrate Lance Rundle and disqualified from driving for one month.

No traffic conviction was recorded.

Hayley Grace Caine, 18

P-plater Caine blew a reading of .040 after she was intercepted at Inverness on December 29.

She pleaded guilty in Yeppoon Magistrates Court on January 30 to drink driving.

With no prior offending of this sort, Caine, a nursing student, was fined $300 by Magistrate Lance Rundle and disqualified from driving for three months.

Jackson had cannabis in his system when police caught him driving at Yeppoon on October 20.

With no similar offending in the past five years, Jackson, a fitter and turner, was fined $400 by Magistrate Lance Rundle and disqualified from driving for one month.
