A Central Queensland mum sentenced in 2021 for drug trafficking got back into the meth dealing game, using Snapchat and Facebook Messenger to arrange sales with her customers.
De-elle Shae Randall, 27, appeared in custody in the Supreme Court at Rockhampton on December 21 where she pleaded guilty to charges including six counts of supplying dangerous drugs and trafficking.
The court heard that Randall was a passenger in a Rockhampton-bound vehicle which police stopped and searched on the Bruce Highway at Koumala, on December 9, 2022.
The court was told that police had intelligence that Randall was dealing amphetamine, methamphetamine and cocaine at East Street in Rockhampton.
Police seized Randall’s phone and on it they found Snapchat and Facebook Messenger communications that showed she was dealing drugs.
The court was told that the messages contained drug terms line “tick me a P” (tick me a point of meth) and “half right now” (.5g of meth).
It heard that Randall told one of her customers that she had “more drugs” stocked at her Gracemere property.
Another customer asked Randall how much meth could be purchased for $300 and she replied “close to four points”, the court heard.
It was told that during an eight-day period in 2022, Randall supplied more than $2800 worth of meth to one customer who himself was also dealing drugs.
To another customer, Randall supplied 10.5g of meth for $2000, the court heard.
It was told that a tick sheet of Randall’s showed she was owed money by seven different customers, at one stage.
A tick sheet also confirmed that Randall made $5100 worth of sales in a one-week period.
Randall was on parole at the time of committing these offences and the court heard she was operating a “street level business”.
The court was told that Randall had been in custody since her arrest on December 9 last year.
Before passing sentence, Justice Graeme Crow noted that he was familiar with Randall’s criminal history because he sentenced her in April 2021, for drug trafficking.
On that occasion, Randall received a jail sentence with parole.
Justice Crow said it was “particularly concerning” that Randall had returned to supplying meth.
The court heard that Randall’s parents had suffered health issues, with her mother recently requiring surgery to remove a kidney after a cancerous tumour was found, and her father currently unwell with skin cancer.
“Your parents are unwell ... you’ve put your parents through hell,” Justice Crow told Randall.
The court heard that Randall had undertaken several courses while in pre-sentence custody for a year and 11 days.
Justice Crow sentenced Randall to three years’ jail with immediate parole eligibility.
