A teenager who was part of a group busted doing drugs in a public toilet cubicle at Yeppoon in the early hours of New Year’s Day, has faced court.
Bobby Jellick, 19, pleaded guilty in Yeppoon Magistrates Court on February 2 to possessing MDMA.
Police prosecutor Courtney Brown said at 2.05am on January 1, police found numerous people including Jellick standing inside a toilet cubicle at Yeppoon consuming a dangerous drug.
Ms Brown said there was a strong smell of cannabis coming from the cubicle and Jellick was detained by police for a search.
Jellick was found in possession of two MDMA pills.
The court heard Jellick had no criminal history.
Solicitor Stephanie Nicholas said Jellick worked part-time in the hospitality industry and got the MDMA pills from “some random bloke”.
Magistrate Philippa Beckinsale placed Jellick on a six-month good behaviour order with a $300 recognisance.
No conviction was recorded.
