Part of the Yaamba Rd is shut after a two vehicle crash left two elderly patients in the care of paramedics, with fire crews cutting a car open in the process.

A lane on the Yaamba Rd was closed earlier this afternoon and a car had to be cut open following a two vehicle crash which left elderly patients in the hands of paramedics.
Emergency services rushed to the Yaamba Rd near Macartney St in Norman Gardens after 3.15pm to a two vehicle, nose to tail crash.
A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said paramedics were on the scene assessing two patients, one believed to be in their 80s and the other their 90s.
Two crews from the Queensland Fire Department arrived at 3.30 to the scene and they removed the driver side door and part of one of the involved vehicles so paramedics could treat one of the patients.
A QFD spokesperson said the patient wasn’t trapped in the vehicle and the removal was done to assist paramedics.
Part of the Yaamba Rd is closed and motorists are urged to proceed with caution.
