Australians have had less angst over COVID infections than the rest of the world. Isolation was our guaranteed protection but becoming complacent with the risks, it is now “deja vu”.
Allowing the return of ex-pats on international flights has put us at risk once again. With the delayed rollout of the vaccine in short supply, we are now facing our worst nightmare.
No regular mandatory testing and vaccinations for workers, interstate travellers and the aged have left us in dire straits.
The “Delta” strain in particular, the deadliest and extremely contagious variant imported from India, is our latest threat. We are now suffering lockdown and lockouts as a consequence of our delay in taking this seriously.
Our blase attitude to this invisible enemy leaves us unprotected from this formidable foe. Shutting the gate is too late; the horse has bolted.

Jacqui Walker: People with a medical condition do not need to wear a mask in Qld. Is this different between states?
Paul A. Hoolihan: Problem is, he does not live in Britain.
Angela Chiavaroli: I would say he’s correct.
Michael Chadbone: Angela Chiavaroli, wouldn’t the Constitution Act of the UK be superseded by the Northern Territory Self-Government Act of 1978?
Craig Andrews: Overreacting these fines.
Teena Leanne: Omg, just wear your mask.
