Firefighters have put out grassfire in paddock off Gracelyn Drive, Gracemere

Rural firefighters are monitoring a paddock that caught fire, also causing a power pole in the middle of the block of land on the outskirts of Rockhampton to light up.

Emergency services battle to control fire

Fire crews have put out a grass, power pole and tractor fire in a paddock near several houses on the outskirts of Rockhampton.

A Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) spokesman said spot fires were burning near some fences and a power pole caught fire, but was put out by 11.45am.

A tractor which caught fire was put out by 12.15pm.

The spokesman said four crews put out the blaze on a block of land off near Leopold Court and Gracelyn Drive, Gracemere, after receiving a call about 10.45am.

Fire crews began arriving just after 11am.

The cause of the fire is being investigated.
