Paramedics are treating a male driver in his 80s after his vehicle collided with a truck in the Central Highlands.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said a crew was called to the scene along Capella Rubyvale Rd, about 2km north of Rubyvale, shortly before noon.

She said a car had collided with the side of a truck and paramedics were attending to a male driver in his 80s, who as of 12.15pm was still in the vehicle. The female passenger was uninjured.

It is understood the passenger is the man’s wife.
