Emergency crews descend on Yeppoon home billowing smoke

Police are investigating whether a house fire in Yeppoon at 4pm was deliberately lit.

Smoke from the fire blanketed the street in smoke.

Two fire crews have responded to a residential property fire on Adelaide Park Rd after emergency services were called just after 4pm.

The fire was extinguished by the time crews arrived however the house was emitting a large amount of smoke, a Queensland Fire Department spokesman said, adding that crews were checking for remaining hot spots.

Police are on scene and there are no reports of injuries, a Queensland Police Service spokesman said.

Investigations are ongoing and no charges have been laid.
