TERRY Robinson believes he's found the cheapest fuel in Rockhampton, and he's lucky enough to have it just across the road.
For the past 16 years the owner of Wandal Newsagency has looked out the front door of his business to the price board outside Choice service station on Wandal Rd.
He says they're always two cents cheaper than other service stations around town, and he fuels up there as much as he can.
Terry believes the price of fuel locally is influenced by the prices set by bigger companies, and questioned why Rockhampton is so much dearer than other regional towns.
He has worked at the newsagency for 16 years and said despite it changing hands a few times the price has always been consistently lower.
He also nominated the service station on Thozet Road as a cheap location for fuel. On Thursday, Bruce Young MP and Michelle Landry MP launched a Capricornia Fuel Watch asking the public to identify where the cheapest and most expensive fuel is in the area.
They hope, with the support of The Morning Bulletin, it will support businesses who are providing fuel at a lower margin and encourage healthy competition.
