CapRescue tasked to horse riding incident at Jellinbah

A man was assessed by paramedics before being transported to hospital by the CapRescue chopper after he was dragged by a horse on a Central Queensland property.

The CapRescue chopper has been tasked to a horse riding incident on a rural property west of Rockhampton.

A 33-year-old man has been airlifted to Rockhampton Hospital after falling from a horse on a property in Central Queensland.

Paramedics were called to Jellinbah, west of Rockhampton, at 1.41pm Sunday after receiving reports a man had been dragged by a horse.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesman said paramedics assessed the man, and the CapRescue helicopter was tasked.

According to the rescue helicopter service, the man was dragged a “couple of hundred metres by a horse on a cattle station”.

He suffered some severe grazes and abrasions and had suspected head injuries.

The man was in a stable condition when transferred by the CapRescue helicopter.
