A Central Queensland woman has been jailed after kicking a police officer in the groin and seriously assaulting him and another officer when they tried to restrain her.

Mother-of-two Bobbie Jo Bond, 37, went on a violent drunken rampage against two separate police officers when they were dealing with her antics.

Bond went before the Rockhampton Magistrates Court on January 10 with a staggering 15-page criminal history of like offending and had served jail time for another serious assault in 2015, the court heard.

Police prosecutor Jennifer Leach told the court Bond was taken into police custody and seriously assaulted an officer on September 12.

She said he was kicked in the abdomen and the groin.

Bond committed more offences on September 26, when she threw items on the pavement and broke the front door at a person’s house.

Ms Leach said Bond was banging the door and walls, and spat at another police officer who managed to dodge the attack.

The court heard she was continuously screaming when police took her by the arms.

She had also lunged her head forward and her teeth made contact with the police officer, and she kicked his shin, Ms Leach said.

She had been drinking all day, however didn’t pierce the police officer’s skin and her spit didn’t hit him, according to defence solicitor Brendan Selic.

Bond pleaded guilty to three counts of assaulting police, three counts of seriously assaulting police by biting, two counts of public nuisance, two counts of obstructing police and one count of breaching a police protection notice.

Mr Selic said Bond was taken from her parents at a young age, began drinking alcohol and consuming marijuana at 15 years old, and had been diagnosed with mental health conditions.

He said it was unlikely she would gain employment in the future.

The court heard Bond was remorseful for her actions.

Mr Selic said he was instructed by Bond that she knew she needed to stop drinking alcohol.

Magistrate Philippa Beckinsale said Bond risked going back to jail if she offended, given her long history.

She said Bond had “good prospects of rehabilitation of [she] stays off drugs”.

Ms Beckinsale said Bond presented differently while sober and she could not have ‘not one drink’ otherwise she would behave the way she did.

Bond was sentenced to 12 months imprisonment with parole release on January 25, with 106 days already served before sentencing.

Convictions were recorded.

Ms Beckinsale said this time in jail would be time for Bond to reflect on her actions.

She said Bond must decide if she wanted to break the cycle of disadvantage.
