11-year-old boy found safe and well after search in Ashgrove

A boy has been located after he went missing in Ashgrove on Wednesday afternoon sparking a frantic search.

A boy has been located after he went missing from Ashgrove this afternoon.

Police had earlier asked the public for urgent assistance to locate the 11-year-old boy, who went missing on Yoku Rd at 1.45pm.

The police helicopter was spotted in the air above Ashgrove, with public reports of an announcement being heard over loud speakers.

Queensland Police confirmed the good news after 8pm on their Facebook page.

“Great news!,” the post read.

“The 11-year-old boy missing from Ashgrove this afternoon has been located safe and well.

Police would like to thank the public - particularly residents within Ashgrove, The Gap and surrounding areas - for their help.”
