Traffic was queued for more than seven kilometres on the Pacific Motorway on Brisbane’s southside Tuesday afternoon following a van fire in the southbound lanes.
Emergency services were called to the scene at Holland Park West near the Marshall Road off-ramp around 2pm to find flames coming from the engine bay of a van.
Three southbound lanes were closed while firefighters worked to extinguish the blaze.
One lane reopened soon after, but motorists were advised to find alternate routes if possible.
Two occupants of the van were assessed by paramedics at the scene but no one was injured.
Motorists were urged to avoid the area or expect delays, with vehicles queued back as far as Herschel St in the CBD at one point.
The incident was cleared before 3pm, with delays easing.
