PAUL Flemming has to make a choice between four “lucky ladies” to take out this Valentine’s Day weekend.

“I think I’ve made a decision,” he says shyly.

“I have four – a ‘54 beetle, a ‘57 split window combi, a ‘77 microbus deluxe and a ‘72 Manx beach buggy.

“But I think it will be the ‘77 VW Microbus deluxe I take to the car show this year.”

The car lover is the organiser of the annual Noosa VW Car Show, Love Ya Dub 2020, which starts today and finishes on Sunday with a Show, Shine and Swap at Habitat Noosa at Elanda Point.

Mr Flemming said while beetles and combis were the most commonly recognisable of the VW marque, the Noosa car show included all makes, models and ages.

“Out car show doesn’t focus on one type of VW vehicle – even a brand-new car can turn up and go in the show, as long as it’s a VW,” he said.

“It’s not just older cars only.”

“We’re expecting around 100 cars and people are going to see a lot of VWs from the ’50s, ’60s and ’70s like beetles, combis, karmann ghias and type 3s, but they’ll also see late model cars too.”

The annual car show, organised by Klub VW Sunshine Coast, begins on Friday night with an opening party at Cooroy.

On Saturday, a convoy of the classic cars will cruise around town taking in Noosa Heads, Noosaville, Tewantin and Boreen Point, before parking at Habitat Noosa at Elanda Point for dinner.

Everyone’s invited to Habitat Noosa on Sunday for the VW Show, Shine and Swap where all the VWs will be on display.

The impressive line-up of classic cars will be parked next to Habitat Noosa’s restaurant & Eco Brewing Co. artesian brewery.

Entry to the car show for spectators is free., while the cost for VW owners wanting to participate is $20 for the weekend.
