It's little wonder the Medusa has seduced the heart and mind of 61-year-old Wally Boor who likens her to his "trophy wife".

Medusa in Greek mythology was originally a beautiful mortal woman who was a temptress to the gods.

Mr Boor has been equally smitten with her modern-day namesake.

The Fish Noosa owner is in the final stages of fitting out the 11m Riviera luxury charter boat for his Noosa Bespoke Charters venture.

He said it would be the first of its kind to operate in local waters.

"They're expensive little animals, this is 20 years old but it presents beautifully," he said.

"It's been treated with kid gloves all its life, it's almost like my trophy wife," Mr Boor said.

He was looking to upgrade his fishing charter boat when the beguiling possibilities presented by Medusa convinced him to take a new business tack.

"Medusa was doing luxury charter work in Sydney the last few years, and that started my mind ticking," Mr Boor said.

"Our emphasis into the future will be down this path, we've stuck our toe in the water to see what the response was and it was amazing really," he said.

Mr Boor originally bought the boat to do some game fishing, and has already christened Medusa, landing a marlin straight away.

"It's a lucky boat, that's a good sign, there's a lot of things that just fell into place, it was meant to be I suppose," he said.

Passenger numbers will be strictly limited to eight to enhance the cruising experience.

"We saw a gaping hole in the charter industry on the Sunshine Coast and I've been approached by many, many people over the last couple of weeks," he said.

"It just makes sense.

"It's all lifestyle charter, it's bespoke.

"What that simply means is you can book us and form your own charter," Mr Boor said.

He said it was all about sharing the experience of spending a day, an evening or a beautiful sunset cruise on an up-market boat, fully catered for by The Ohana Group.

Mr Boor said a client might want to run down to Cape Moreton for a day getaway and then cruise back in the evening if the weather was good, dining on sumptuous seafood platters or high end finger food.

"Someone might want to do a sunset cruise to propose and we can set everything up and give them total privacy," he said.
