A level crossing in Brisbane’s south is expected to be closed for days after a truck crashed into a boom gate.

Emergency services rushed to Musgrave Road at Coopers Plains about 4.30am where a boom gate had been significantly damaged.

Paramedics assessed a man in a stable condition but he declined transport to hospital.

Police are urging motorists to plan alternative routes as the crossing would remain closed for several days.

No SEQ train services are expected to be affected by the damage as the line is typically used for freight and long distance.

The Sydney to Brisbane train was slightly delayed. However Queensland Rail advises no further delays are expected.

Crews are on site working on a recovery plan.
