A 75-year-old moped rider has died in a horror wet weather crash on the Gold Coast.
The Mudgeeraba man was riding a moped on Hinkler Drive at Highland Park on Saturday when it left the road and slammed into a tree.
Emergency services were notified and Queensland Ambulance Service paramedics and police arrived on the scene just before 11.30am where they located the man lying nearby in bushland.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The forensic crash unit is investigating.
Anyone with dashcam footage is urged to come forward.
