Two men have been flown to hospital, one with life-threatening injuries, after a serious truck crash on the Mt Lindesay Highway in the Scenic Rim.
Emergency services were called to Markwell Creek Rd on the Mount Lindesay Highway at Cryna about 4.50am.
Queensland Fire Department crews assisted in removing one occupant from the vehicle with hydraulic cutting gear.
“One crew on scene was with a person heavily trapped and crews jumped into action with hydraulic cutting equipment and that person was removed from the vehicle,” a QFD spokeswoman said.
“There was one other person but they did not require extraction and they are in the hands of emergency services.”
Paramedics continued to treat the second man, who had suffered life-threatening head and chest injuries, who was later flown to Gold Coast University Hospital.
The first man was flown to the PA Hospital in a stable condition.
The northbound lanes on the Mount Lindesay Highway near Markwell Creek Road were impacted with motorists advised to avoid the area and seek alternative routes.
Diversions are in place via Sandy Creek Road and Josephville Road, Josephville.
Queensland Police however said this diversion is not suitable for high vehicles due to a low interstate railway bridge, and that high vehicles should detour through Boonah.
