Man critical after Logan shooting

Police have made an arrest after an alleged shooting at a Logan property which left a man fighting for life.

Police have made an arrest after a man was left fighting for life when he was allegedly shot at a Logan property overnight.

Emergency services were called to a Saverin Rd property at Eagleby at around 10.10pm Saturday following reports of a firearm being discharged.

It’s understood the shooter fled before police arrived.

It is understood a 36-year-old man self-presented to Logan Hospital with a gunshot wound to his upper body and has since been transferred to Gold Coast University in a critical condition.

One person was taken into custody on Sunday afternoon and is currently assisting in the investigation, a Police spokeswoman said.

The shooting was not believed to be a random incident and there is no threat to public safety.

Investigations are ongoing and anyone with information that could assist investigations, including any CCTV or dashcam footage in the area at the time, is urged to contact police.
