Man charged with attempted murder after shooting in Bethania

A man in his 60s has been charged with attempted murder after allegedly shooting a 35-year-old twice during an argument on a suburban street south of Brisbane.

A man in his 60s has been charged with attempted murder after allegedly shooting a 35-year-old twice during an argument on a suburban street south of Brisbane.

Police allege the argument occurred in Claredon St, Bethania, between the two men, who knew each other, about 5.55pm on Saturday.

A 62-year-old Bethania man allegedly shot the 35-year-old man, also from Bethania, twice – once in the shoulder and once in the chest.

The 35-year-old was taken to Princess Alexandra Hospital, where he remains in a stable condition.

The 62-year-old has been charged with one count each of attempted murder, acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm and fail to securely store weapon.

He will appear in the Beenleigh Magistrates Court on Monday.
