Proserpine Junior Cricket Association has been left reeling after a break-in over the summer holidays saw thieves steal thousands of dollars worth in tools and machinery.
A post by current coach and former president Mark Valmadre revealed that the thieves had stolen a ride-on mower, push mower, whipper snipper, battery powered tools and batteries, backpack blower, pressure washer and a toolbox with socket sets and spanners in it.
Club president Mike Hope said while this is undoubtedly a difficult period for the club, there were “too many people to name” who have stood up to help during this challenging period.
“The club has banded together really well, and we’ve received a lot of support from the local community,” Hope said.
To help replace some of the stolen equipment, the club has entered the Good for Cricket Raffle, where supporters can buy tickets to potentially win a brand new Toyota, with 100% of the proceeds going toward supporting the club.
Queensland Police has been conducted for an update on their ongoing investigation.
