Cricket Far North have tasted success in the U13 girl’s Northern Carnival.

The North Queensland Cricket Association carnival, held in Bowen, was heavily interrupted by rain, with five games abandoned over the course of six rounds.

Far North had its final three games washed out, but a strong start to the tournament held it in good stead as they were undefeated through three games following a tense three-run win over Mackay-Whitsunday and five-run win over North Queensland. Hayley Graham was Far North’s leading run-scorer, while Eunice King an Chantel Gordon were the chief destroyers with ball in hand.

Central Queensland was hot on the heels of Far North, with their only loss coming at the hands of the eventual winners.

Mackay-Whitsunday managed a win in it’s last match to finish third, downing North Queensland by 13 runs thanks to an unbeaten 30 from Georgia Eva.

North Queensland were only able to play three matches and went winless, but Emerson Hague had a carnival to remember with ball in hand.
