Six rescued from sinking plane, two escape separate crash
WITNESSES who saw a plane crash into a dam at Lakeside Airpark are being asked to contact the Australian Transport Safety Bureau.

UPDATE:
THE Australian Transport Safety Bureau (ATSB) have released a statement that said during landing, the aircraft struck the runway, then veered off, striking an embankment before coming to a stop in a nearby dam.
The pilot and five passengers were able to safely egress.
One passenger sustained minor injuries and the aircraft was substantially damaged.
As part of the investigation, the ATSB will interview the pilot, and witnesses.
Any witnesses to the accident are asked to call the ATSB on 1800 020 616.
A report is expected within several months.

A 25-YEAR-OLD woman was taken to Proserpine Hospital after a plane crashed into a dam near the Whitsundays.
Southern media reported the plane was "fully submerged" when emergency services were called about 3.50pm yesterday.
A QAS spokeswoman said six people were involved in the crash and five declined treatment.
The incident occurred on Whitsunday Dr at Lakeside Airpark.
Meanwhile police are investigating a powered parachute crash, after it took out a stall at the Big Boar Comp 2015 near Kuttabul.
The vehicle was descending while releasing candy to show-goers below, when it clipped the top of a tree about 1.40pm yesterday.
The pilot and other person on board crashed into the Bullet Bikes stall, according to another stallholder.
A QAS spokeswoman said they attended the scene but both men had walked away from the crash.
A quad bike was believed to be damaged in the crash and the Australian Transport Safety Bureau (ATSB) has been contacted as a part of the investigation.
