Mackay police investigate alleged stabbing at Andergrove

A man in his 20s has suffered a wound to his shoulder following an alleged stabbing incident at Andergrove early this morning.

Mackay police were called to a stabbing incident at Andergrove early Easter morning.

A teen girl is assisting police and young man has been taken to hospital with injuries following an alleged stabbing at Andergrove early this morning.

The incident occurred about 5am Sunday.

A Queensland Police Service spokeswoman said officers were called to a house over reports of a stabbing.

It is understood the weapon used was a pair of scissors.

She said four police crews were called to the incident and someone has been taken into custody.

It is understood a teen girl was assisting police with their investigation.

A Queensland Ambulance Service crew was also called to the scene.

A QAS spokesman confirmed a man in his 20s was taken to Mackay Base Hospital in a stable condition with a wound to his shoulder after a reported alleged stabbing at 4.59am.
