A woman charged over an alleged kidnapping in Sarina will plead not guilty to holding a child against their will in a vehicle.
Kate Elizabeth Hill is facing two charges including deprivation of liberty and possessing suspected stolen property after a 14-year-old boy was allegedly forced into a vehicle at knifepoint in the Bakers Creek area.
It is alleged the vehicle drove around Mackay for several hours with the teen in the boot, eventually stopping outside the Night Owl in Slade Point about 10.30pm on February 12.
Solicitor Jordana Abela told Mackay Magistrates Court her client intended to plead not guilty to the deprivation of liberty.
A hearing date has been listed for June 1.
Ms Abela said Ms Hill intended to plead guilty to the possessing suspected stolen property charge, and asked it be set for mention again on June 1.
Magistrate Robert Turra said the stolen property charge related to various items including alcohol and footwear found in Ms Hill’s possession on February 13, 2022, at Paget.
Mr Turra enlarged Ms Hill’s bail.
