A young driver pinched while trying to flee the scene of a crash involving a stolen car has pleaded guilty to a raft of charges stemming from the moment he was captured and pinned to the ground covered in blood.
Emerald man Scott Ryan Tyack is facing a raft of charges, eight of which are tied to an incident on the Peak Downs Highway at Greenmount when Tyack was pinned by down by truckies who grabbed him after a crash before police arrived.
Emergency crews arrived at the scene shortly after 9am November 6, where police officers discovered the wreckage of a white Toyota HiLux, which had allegedly been stolen earlier.
Investigations indicated the ute had been travelling at speed before overtaking a vehicle and crashing into a truck, narrowly avoiding hitting a car with a family inside.
Tyack is charged with dangerous driving while adversely affected by an intoxicating substance, unlawful use of a motor vehicle that had been fitted with incorrect number plates, failing to remain at the scene, being unlicensed, driving under the influence, possessing marijuana and a grinder.
The court heard he is also facing multiple charges from Emerald and Rockhampton including unlawful use of a motor vehicle, stealing petrol, possessing drug utensils, evasion, breaching bail and failing to appear in court.
His matters were mentioned in Mackay Magistrates Court on Wednesday where via videolink he pleaded guilty to all charges.
Given the number of charges his matters were listed for a one-hour long plea in February.
