Police called to suspected stolen cars stuck in mud at Mackay dumping hot spot

Mackay police have swarmed a car dumping hot spot following a report of suspected stolen cars becoming bogged in mud.

Several police crews were called to Horse and Jockey Rd at Racecourse about 4.45pm Wednesday.

Witnesses reported two vehicles, with people inside, became bogged in mud near the boat ramp where several stolen cars have been found dumped in recent months.

It is understood police have found the cars and a search is under way to track down the occupants.
