AS IF running a marathon wasn't challenging enough, Mackay Christian College teachers Lesley and Alun Tunnah will be taking on Greenland.
The pair will run past glaciers along snow covered trails in temperatures down to -15 degrees or even colder, all in the name of fundraising.
Mr Tunnah admitted living in tropical Queensland meant they could only imagine what the challenge would be like.
This isn't the first time the pair was travelling another part of the world to run and raise money, with previous adventures taking them to Entabeni wildlife park in South Africa and the Great Wall of China.
Mr Tunnah said they ran to highlight the great work done by school chaplains who supported students, especially those going through difficult and challenging situations.
So as they train and unpack the winter woollies, Mr and Mrs Tunnah are thanking Mackay Christian College students who have already raised $2000 for their important cause.
Mr Tunnah will run the 42.2km Polar Bear Challenge marathon in Kangerlussuaq, Greenland, just north of the Arctic Circle on October 25.
He will then back it up and join his wife on the half marathon the next day.
