IF YOU live in Mackay's Northern Beaches you are probably one of the many who have been anxiously waiting for Bing Guo's latest dining experience to open at Northern Beaches Central.

Chef Guo said Bing's Nomiya Mini at Rural View offered a casual setting with lots of takeaway options.

"It will be a place for families, or a quick meal. This location is going to have a different culture - a different product," he said.

The restaurant opening was highly anticipated, he said.

"People have been stopping by, asking if we're open yet, for the past month. But I didn't want to open until we were ready.

"It's hard to find staff that work well together in a kitchen and it's important to me that everything comes out great. We want people to come back and if they order something and it's no good - they won't come bother coming again.

"That's why we opened this week without any announcement, to just have a practice run and get used to working together in the kitchen."

Chef Guo handpicked staff for his new endeavour from his Victoria Street restaurant Bing's Nomiya and some were new to the company.

"My wife Katy, my sister and cousin are here," he said, nodding to the kitchen, "and family friends. People I trust and know will work hard - do their best."

There is a great feel to the restaurant. Natural light pours in through the western facing windows, parasols hang from the opposite wall - there are a few unassuming tables but it's not overcrowded.

Doug Lithgow has lived in Eimeo for 10 years and was excited for the restaurant to have finally opened.

"It's good to see a local business doing well up here at the Northern Beaches and he knows what he's doing," Mr Lithgow said as he popped a round of sushi in his mouth.

And what's next for Chef Guo?

"I want to do a bubble tea cafe in the CBD," Chef Guo said.

Yes, he's already thinking about his next move.

Join Chef Guo and staff on Monday, June 10 from 10.30am for Bing's Nomiya Mini's grand opening.
