HAMILTON Island has more rooms available now that Qualia has reopened following a facelift that began after Cyclone Debbie.
The resort has opened in time for race week, and is a popular place for visitors to say during the event.
The Audi Hamilton Island Race Week is on from August 19-26.
Late last month, event organisers received the 150th entry into the race. Named Scamper and owned by Adrian Lawrie, the 15.2 metre long Schionning design is one of 24 multihulls already entered for the regatta.
A Hamilton Island Enterprises spokeswoman said the exclusive resort, on the secluded northern tip of the island, reopened on July 1.
"(The forward bookings) are looking great. We have about 80% occupancy on the island," the spokeswoman said.
"During race week (Qualia) is particularly popular."
She said there was nothing new at the resort, but the facilities had been upgraded.

While Hamilton Island is preparing for race week, other resorts on the islands in the Whitsundays are in the midst of major facelifts.
Daydream Island is going through a massive upgrade including building a new marina.
The $65-million upgrade is expected to be completed in mid-2018.
Hayman Island is also going through refurbishment and is expected to open in mid-2018.
Palm Bay Resort on Long Island is open.
