Emergency crews rush to Mirani property after man pinned by 12-tonne backhoe

Emergency crews were called to a Mirani property after a man in his 50s was pinned between a backhoe and a garden bed.

Paramedics rushed to a rural property in the Mackay region after a man was pinned by a 12-tonne backhoe.

The incident occurred just before 3.30pm Saturday when a man in his 50s was pinned between a backhoe and garden bed on private property at Mirani.

It is understood the man was pinned for about two to three minutes before the heavy machinery was able to be moved off him.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman confirmed crews were called to a machinery incident at private property at Mirani where a man in his 50s suffered an upper leg injury.
She said the man was able to walk to his home before paramedics arrived.

He was taken in a stable conditions to Mackay Base Hospital.
