Emergency crews rush to Mackay motel after shed fire sparks evacuation
Multiple fire crews have rushed to a Mackay motel after a blaze broke out, forcing an evacuation of the accommodation.
Four fire crews are on scene are a fire broke out in a shed at the back of a Mackay motel, forcing an evacuation at the site.
A Queensland Fire Department spokeswoman said the crews arrived about 6pm to the Nebo Rd address where a large amount of smoke was coming from a small garden shed at the back of the property.
She said the shed was on fire and evacuations at the accommodation had taken place.
The fire, believed to be electrical, was contained to the shed and crews were working to get it under control.
Queensland Police and Queensland Ambulance Services were also on scene.
