Collinsville pedestrian hospitalised after being hit by vehicle

A woman in her 50s was hospitalised following an early morning crash in a Bowen Basin mining town.

An early morning traffic incident resulted in one woman being hospitalised and subsequently flown to another hospital.

Emergency services responded after 7.15am to reports of a crash at the intersection of Railway Rd and Short St in Collinsville.

A Queensland Police spokeswoman confirmed that a woman was run over by a car while walking.

A Queensland Ambulance spokeswoman confirmed that they then transported a woman in her 50s to Collinsville hospital in a stable condition with arm and leg injuries.

She was later flown from the Collinsville hospital to Mackay Base hospital where she is undergoing treatment.

Police will investigate the circumstances that led to the crash.
