A nationwide mining and energy services contractor might soon wind up its sprawling company after four corporate insolvency specialists were appointed to the company as administrators.
One Key Resources Group, started in 2010, is a mine site services and hiring contractor specialising who supply skilled workers to mine sites in Moranbah, Emerald, the Gunnedah Basin and others across Australia.
On October 28, 2024, the company was placed into voluntary administration and Brisbane chartered accountancy firm Hall Chadwick were appointed as administrators.
One Key Resources had 22 open positions advertised on their website on October 29, 2024, including permanent production operators at the Lake Vermont Mine near Dysart, operators at Foxleigh coal mine and haul truck operators at Coppabella.
One Key also advertised jobs on their Facebook page calling for electricians for operations in the Western Coalfields of NSW on October 28, the day the company went into external administration.
Hall Chadwick said the purpose of the appointment was to allow independent insolvency practitioners to take control of One Key Resources during which “creditors’ claims are put on hold”.
“At the end of that period the Administrators are required to provide creditors with information and recommendations to assist creditors to decide upon the companies’ future,” a spokesperson said.
“The administrators are continuing to trade the business of the companies, including the continuation of employment of all employees whilst a proposal for a Deed of Company Arrangement is being formulated to be presented to creditors at the second meeting of creditors.
“The Administrators and their staff are available to discuss the continued operations and assist with any queries from stakeholders including creditors and employees.”
One Key Resources has been contacted for comment.
