Police are on the scene investigating the cause of a crash that blocked the Bruce Highway earlier this afternoon.
Emergency services were called to the Bruce Highway near Farleigh just after 2.30pm and have arrived to find a Seaforth man, 73, still trapped in the car.
A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said the man was freed from the car and paramedics found he suffered back injuries, but was in a stable condition.
Acting Sergeant Carl Butcher said the crash was still under investigation.
“At this point in time we’re looking at whether or not fatigue or distraction were involved in this crash and until we can talk to the driver it’s still under investigation,” Sergeant Butcher said.
The highway was closed in both directions with diversions in place on Sugarshed Rd and was reopened just after 4pm.
