Bruce Highway crash: Man dies in suspected hit and run on Ron Camm Bridge
Police have charged a man over the death of traffic controller Brendan Moreland, who was allegedly struck and killed while moving road markers early Tuesday. Here’s when he will appear in court.

Arrest footage of the man charged over an alleged hit and run that caused the death of popular Brendan Moreland has come to light.
Police have today charged Tristan James Watson after ongoing investigations since the incident occurred on the Ron Camm Bridge about 4am on October 26.
The 28 year old was arrested on Tuesday morning at a Mackay home.
Mackay Inspector Ian Haughton on Thursday said he had been in police custody since his arrest.
Police allege Mr Watson was driving a stolen grey Toyota RAV4 when Mr Moreland, 35, was fatally struck. Bystanders performed first aid but tragically Mr Moreland died at the scene.
Inspector Haughton on Wednesday said officers at the scene saw a Toyota RAV4 with a damaged roof driving south on the bridge.
The vehicle was found at a Petrie St unit complex about 5.20am.
Mr Watson was arrested later on Tuesday morning and has today been charged with one count of dangerous driving causing death, three counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, two counts of driving unlicensed and one count of burglary.
Footage shows police escorting him in his underwear from a home.
“These types of investigations are complex and we want to make sure that we’ve got clarity on all the circumstances around it and we managed to achieve that over the last couple of days,” Inspector Haughton said.
He will appear in Mackay Magistrates Court on Friday.
“Always with these complex investigations, support and information from the public is crucial,” Inspector Haughton said, thanking the community for their response to police in relation to this investigation.
“I would also like to acknowledge the police officers and the emergencies that have played a part in this outcome.
“There was some excellent work by the first response police, scenes of crime officers, the dog squad was involved, forensic crash unit.”
Inspector Haughton said in the past few days work by criminal investigation branch detectives and the property squad “had been instrumental in being where we are today”.
