THE journey towards the release of Kingswood’s new album was one “paved with creative reinvention”.

The Melbourne four-piece group have kicked off 2020 with the release of their latest single Bittersweet.

Their third studio album, Juveniles, will follow on March 13 — the day after they begin their national tour.

The circuit will culminate in a show at Mackay’s CBD McGuires Hotel on June 27.

Speaking of the release of Bittersweet, one of the band’s chief songwriters Fergus Linacre said the song was originally inspired by the love story of a dear friend of the group’s.

“Without going into detail, a medical issue put a question mark over their future, but without blinking they forged on together, overcome with love and companionship,” he said.

“The opening line, ‘there’s no love on this earth that isn’t bittersweet’, is a truth that we should all remember as we paddle through the waves.”
